Best online shopping websites for the fashion conscious

There will always be people who don't mind traipsing around from store to store when they need to purchase clothing. Then there are people for whom the prospect of driving around from store to store or mall to mall, parking, finding what they want and more is something they dread. The convenience of the Internet has made it possible for these people to shop for the most stylish and fashion forward clothing in the comfort of their own home.

These stores run the gamut from moderately priced places with clothing for the style conscious person who doesn't have deep pockets to designer clothing that may be an overstock or remainder from a high end retailer. Either way, there's something for everyone, and the added benefit is that in some cases, you may not have to pay tax or shipping, and there is no cost to get there.

*Sierra Trading Post -

Sierra Trading Post has a catalog and also posts things on their website. They offer everything from men and womens clothing to bed linen, stuff for camping or just about anything else. They also have shoes. As great as the deals often are, the things they have are limited in quantity, and they rarely have a wide range of sizes available. The longer they have merchandise, the deeper the discounts are.

In order to benefit from the best deals on this site, it's a good idea to subscribe to their e-mail list. Then you will be notified before regular customers of bargain blow outs and other specials. You can also request to have a printed catalog sent to you. The best way to take advantage of Sierra Trading Post is to make a point of checking the site out regularly.

*Overstock.com -

Overstock.com is well known for having great deals on everything, clothing included. The discounts are never as deep as what one can find at Sierra Trading Post, but there is a much wider selection of things from which to choose, and the likelihood of finding a broad range of sizes is far greater.

*Lands End -

Land's End is a good old stand by. It sells classic clothing, most of which is timeless. They have an area on their website that is devoted to overstocks. This is where they put the things they need to sell quickly, and the discounts will get deeper all the time. New merchandise is added every week. The quality of the clothing is outstanding, the customer service is excellent and as long as the item you order is in stock, they ship it pretty quickly.

*L L Bean -

This is probably the best place from which to purchase warm winter outer clothing. They also sell other clothes, boots and household things. Much of the clothing they sell is pretty timeless. The best time to purchase things from them is when they have sales. Sign up to be on their mailing list and they will notify you by e-mail of their sales.

*Chadwicks -

This is a great place from which to purchase good quality clothing at very reasonable prices. They have basic clothing staples and then some trendier stuff. By and large, the merchandise is pretty conservative and suitable for just about everyone. They have great sales. If you find something you like, however, it's a good idea to order more than one because once others catch on, the stuff that is most popular goes quickly.

*Newport News -

Newport News is somewhat like Chadwicks. Their prices are comparable, but Newport tends to be more fashion forward. They have a huge selection of different style jeans that are suitable for every body type. When merchandise goes on sale, there are often really great buys. They often offer specials where you can purchase two items and get the second item for half price.

*E-Bay -

E-Bay has a wealth of great stuff. Unless you are looking for something specific, shopping for anything on E-Bay will likely feel like a search for a needle in a haystack. When the things that the sellers are offering are listed as NWT (New With Tags,) it is possible to get fabulous discounts. When shopping on E-Bay, it's always wise to take a look at the seller's rating. Look at the specifics to see the comments that customers have made. Use that to determine whether or not it is worth you while to purchase from that merchant.

This is just a sampling of some of the many great online shopping websites. As the cost of gas and transporting merchandise of any kind continues to rise, many consumers are opting to shop in the stress free atmosphere of their homes. There, they have the luxury of shopping at their convenience and they can check sale prices at a host of different online retailers at their leisure.
