Money making guide for Runescape free-to-play players

Created on: August 19, 2009

Having money in Runescape can help you in life or death situations. Money is needed to buy food, armor, weapons, runes, and many other necessities to make your character the best they can be. To make things worse, not being a member in this game makes being rich just as hard. Free-to-play characters get less benefits, less skills, and less opportunities to help them become the richest and strongest they can be. There are many skills and methods available throughout the world of Runescape that could make you millions while others will help you survive on your own without the need of other peoples' help. The key to success is choosing a skill, working hard in it, and being the best; whether it is a fisherman or miner. I will give a general overview of some of the key-ways to make money for most of the free-to-play skills in Runescape. Also, remember that you must use the Grand Exchange! The Grand Exchange is a market-house/ auction place located in Varrock where you can buy or sell almost anything. Instead of selling things to general stores, the Grand Exchange will pay more money for the goods you are trying to sell. Set your price, and just wait for someone to buy!

Fishing: The first skill we will take a look at is fishing. Fishing can be very rewarding in the long-run if you are trying to supply yourself with food for PvP, or even selling the fish in the Grand Exchange to make money. Lobsters, tuna, and swordfish are very expensive fish that are needed by many people throughout the world. But first, you need to get a high enough level to start fishing for these money-making fish. To start fishing you should first get a small net. Small nets can be purchased for 40-50gp at the Grand Exchange. You can also get them for free off the south coast of Lumbridge. Down on the coast, there is a fishing tutor who is surrounded by nets that constantly spawn. Once you get a net, head off to Draynor Village. Draynor Village is located west of Lumbridge, southeast of Falador, south of Barbarian Village, and Southwest of Varrock. Draynor Village is the best place to get your fishing skill started because there are many places to set up your net and a bank is very close by. You will be fishing for shrimp which are not a great source of money. You can keep them for adventures or training when you are going to need food. You should also bring a fishing pole and 400 bait to Draynor Village because you will need it once you reach level 5 fishing. Bait is 3-5gp each in the Grand
