Poetry: Satan

Now lost and tossed I have become
inside my troubled head;
I hope to find the peace of mind
my soul needs to be fed.

The hue of blue and gray have made
my life a hurricane,
of rumbling, tumbling, drumming storms
that blow and grow with pain.

A child of nature, wildly born,
with gifts beyond compare;
my mantle of insanity
with pride inside I wear.

Yet still I reach for peaceful calm
and look for normalcy;
within this hazy maze of doubt
my light shines brilliantly.

Through soggy, foggy days of rage
my mind is filled with fire;
eclipsing all impediments,
still burning with desire.

I walk along the precipice
And teeter on the edge,
before a stark and dark abyss
so thinly on the ledge.

If I should fall into the black
abyss before me now,
and lose what little mind is left
I'll spit on Satan's brow

and thank him for the open door
that brings relief to me,
away from all the tortured days
of my Insanity.
