Just try typing twi in Google search and the first word that comes in the drop down is Twitter. Started in 2006 it has already gained worldwide popularity so much so that many identities had been hacked as well. It's a social networking site with a difference. It is having a unique messaging system that is compatible to many mobile applications as well as the Internet. The reason it's being liked and used by many celebrities from all spheres of life is because the trend of relation between the celebrities and their fans are changing. Earlier there used to be a huge gap between the common man and his idol, now instead of getting to know from the news stories or paparazzi, the fans are getting all news and insights into their favourites straight from the horse's mouth.

So here is a little list of famous people who are sharing their views, writing comments and feeding their fans with latest news. They are getting real and that's a good thing of all their fans.

From the Media,

The first name that comes to my mind is Oprah Winfrey. She has a fan following of about over 2000000 and she is just following fifteen. She has been sharing comments about her shows and her views on many things. She is also giving a lot of updates on when and where her shows are going to be aired.

And there is Rick Sanchez, the TV news anchor; his opinion is he wants to connect with his viewers through twitter.

Another person is Stephen Fry who regularly tweets comment and is very sweet to follow most of his followers.

From the world of Sports

A would tour winner and from field of cycling is Lance Armstrong! He also has a followers' list of over 1000000 and over 2000 tweets.

From Politics

Barack Obama has already proved himself to be the most popular presidential candidate on the Internet, and now when he is the president you can get the freshest updates about what he is doing and thinking, it's all at a click away.

Then we also have Al Gore in the list.

From the Music Industry

Britney Spears, with a followers list of over two million, the site says yes it's really Britney! And we hope so too. The list goes on as we have MC Hammer, Paula Abdul and many more there.

From Hollywood

There could be a separate Hollywood section for all the Hollywood tweeters.

We have Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher with a huge follower list. We have California's 38th Governor as well; guess why he is in this list?

All in all there is a long list of people who are very excited and using twitter for various things in various ways. It has been hitting the headlines for all kinds of reasons and no wonder the celebrity list is growing by the minute.
