Poetry: Parasites

by Trey Russell

Created on: August 19, 2009

Clawing, grasping,

reaching towards the sun.

Curiously resilient,

ever growing, ever gaining strength.

O, what a wondrous thing it is,

powerful, so very strong.

What horror.

Dark and deep, growing ever stronger.

For in looking I found something unseen,

that sun I saw was my sun,

that creature not outside but in my very soul,

making me not me.
