The cost of dishonesty to humans

Silence

Did you ever just like to sit in silence? No tv, radio, or stereo, no voices of any kind? Those voices are other minds speaking to you in a general way. In silence you hear only your voice speaking in a specific way. Sometimes you really do know best!

Our worlds can become so distracting with these other voices that we literally cannot hear ourselves think. No wonder we don't know what we are doing and don't hold ourselves responsible for doing it. But at the end of the day (whatever day that might be) we all have to pay our bill. If the account book shows we lived our life in such a way that we owe for occupying space on this earth, then we must pay. If the books show that we tried to live right and give back to the world and God some of what we got, then our bill will not be too bad. Not one of us humans get off free. But some of us end up owing a mighty big bill.

Those of us who try day after day will be recognized for our efforts. Most of these folks have the knowledge ahead of time that someone is keeping score. They know that even if they make a few mistakes along the way, the are not forgiven, they are just nickel and dime stuff. Even though they admit their mistakes, they have the wisdom to realize admission is not correction. Some of these people might even believe they are in worse shape than what they are. This is good, it keeps them on the defensive and trying harder. They weigh their choices daily and usually pick the right way. The biggest choice of all is for them to realize that they do have a choice. Sometimes they fear choices, but they still have to make them. Maybe the fear is real because they already know about the wrong choices.

And then there are the other folks. They are the ones who make the bad choices because they want to, its more fun. They know better, but they don't know about the scorekeeper. They think they can sneak in one more bad choice, one more party, one more lie. They might even admit their mistakes. But unlike the others, they think by admitting a mistake they should be forgiven and have the chance to start over. They haven't figured out that even thinking that is a big black mark in the debit side of life. Nobody gets the chance to start over. Nobody can be forgiven the past. Nobody is above God's law. It is not a harsh or unfair law but it is a strict law. That is why God put Mothers on His earth. They were needed to teach discipline, civility, morals and values. Most Mothers sit in that silence spoken
