How Tom Brady's return will boost the Patriots

Created on: August 18, 2009

New England Patriot's future hall of famer Tom Brady is the best there is at quarterback. He has terrific arm strength and magnificent accuracy. He has 3 Super Bowl rings on his hand and is proud of it. He had started every game in 6 straight seasons. But during the first game of the 2008-2009 NFL season the worst had come.

On his 11th pass attempt of the game against the Kansas City Chiefs, he went down. And by the way, this was barely into the game because the Patriots throw the ball a lot. Tom Brady was holding his knee in pain. He was hit by the Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard in the lower leg causing his knee to buckle. He was helped off the field, but did use his own power to walk. Later, it was reported that Tom Brady would be out for the rest of the season and was to have surgery to repair the torn ACL. Matt Cassel took over the team as quarterback. They won the game 17-10 but it was a big loss for the Patriots on the roster and their playoff hopes.

Matt Cassel went on to lead the Patriots to a record of 11-5, but they did not make the playoffs. Matt Cassel over the offseason has now been traded to the Kansas City Chiefs. Brady is supposed to start the regular season as he has already started in a preseason game. But what type of impact will he have on the Patriots now that he is back?

Tom Brady is one of the best quarterbacks ever. He has 3 Super Bowl rings and now has 3 pro-bowl wide receivers to throw the ball to. Those receivers are: Randy Moss, Wes Welker, and Joey Galloway. Tom Brady has been magnificent. Through the 6 seasons where he started every game he has 179 touchdowns. He has thrown for over 23,500 yards. His passer rating is 93.6. This man is truly incredible. He is the best quarterback in this era. The Patriots have only not made the playoffs once when Tom Brady has not started all 16 games. The Patriots have returned as Super Bowl favorites because of his return. Tom Brady will definitely make an immediate impact on his team.

The thing that will be the hardest to overcome is staying in that pocket and the mental problem. He needs to make sure, that the thought of getting injured in the pocket will not affect his game because if it does, he will have a tough year playing football. But we all hope that Tom Brady will be fine and help lead the Patriots to another Super Bowl run.
