I don't know much about Nutrisystem, but Jenny Craig is a way for a company to make money. I've done it for 6 weeks and got really disappointed with the results. First for the methodology that is one to one and completely focused on selling the products. The interviews I had with the specialists there were too much of waste of time...
I don't know much about Nutrisystem other the the TV, but if they do the one to one interview like Jenny Craig does, I don't believe it is successful. I've heard it is on line and phone without going to an office, but regardless, it will depend more on the methodology to get the dieters in.
I believe in the approach in groups like Weight Watchers, NA, AA kind of thing as people have people's support.
Diet is already something individual and lonely that needs a lot of mind involved. If the individual doesn't have the support needed it will depend only on his mind and resolve. I have witnessed great improvement in areas like weight, drugs, alcohol and they all have something in comom: an addition. So Jenny Craig or Nutrisystemm won't be the solution for dieters if they are lonely, individual weight loss support.
