"Zora Bora Marxx," my Soft-coated Wheaton terrier puppy, and kindred spirit. She is fun, excitable, lovable, smart... and INSANE. Zora feels that although she is a dog, we share the same mother. Although she is excited when I come home every afternoon, she goes berserk when my mother enters. Running throughout the house, up two flights of stairs and back. Running laps around the living room worthy of a track star. Hurdling over the couch she ends with a failed gymnast dive through the bottom of the barstools effectively tangling herself in one of the kitchen stools. In addition to her hyperactive ways Zora is also a very, very, jealous puppy. Whenever I hug my mother in Zora's vicinity, she loses it. She barks, bites and does anything and everything in her power to separate me from my mother. I suspect that she thinks, "who's this guy think he is, hugging my mom!". She also has an odd tendency to intercept my mothers hugs if at all possible. She will run as fast as her puppy legs can carry her between me and my mother when she moves in to give me a hug and proceeds to hug my mother with her front legs.
This crazy puppy's antics don't stop there. Oh no, whenever a door is opened in the house, expect little Zora to be out of it as fast as those furry little legs can carry her. She manages to escape anytime there is an opening in the house large enough for her to wiggle through. Zora has managed to run out of our house, four miles into a neighboring field, dig a hole and roll in it until she was thoroughly engulfed in mud all within an hour. Due to Zora's lightly shaded coat, it makes her especially hard to find in the winter. I have found her repeatedly by the sound of her yelp as I accidentally stepped on her in the snow.
This puppy might seem like a cute little bundle of fur, but she can be vicious. She chases our neighbor's fully grown German Shepard around the house and plays with our neighbors Great Dane, in a light versus heavy weight doggy bout. Chases the neighbor's cat and even attempts to play with "John the Deer", a peculiarly friendly deer that makes frequent appearances in my backyard. Although unbeknownced to Zora the deer is afraid of her, and constantly scampers away when she attempts to "play." She takes that as her cue to chase and so the very strange game of cat and mouse begins.
Although Zora is crazy, hyperactive, jealous, vicious, and loud, I love her, and always will.
