I studied the rise and fall of the British Empire, changing styles of education destroyed it. In the beginning everyone was home schooled, the rich had nanny's. At ten or twelve tutors for the rich, cottage industry and farming for the rest. Higher education, formal schooling started at sixteen for the connected.
Conquering and then ruling so as to continue plundering half the world requires solders and clerks. So they disguised the draft by calling it compulsory education, "train you up for all the new tech jobs". Its still the same selection process today. Regimentation, Indoctrination the creation of zombies, order followers. They trained their leaders in the same fashion and lost the lead over time.
The settling of America created a situation where the majority of people where home schooled and had access to resources. Technological explosion, creation of empire, compulsory schooling, decline of standards.
I and the ex home schooled free form. Alexander learned to read over night at five+ years old because playing "Majic" the card game requires it and math. That what I told him any way.
Children do not belong in concentration camps nor do they require brainwashing. So stop putting them in schools or any other setting where dogma rules.
Humans learn and do...and throw things these talents got us to the top of the food chain. Why mess with a system that works?
