American Football can be a very complicated game to play, but it is a very easy game to score. The way to win a game is by scoring more points than your opponent does in a game. At the end of the fourth quarter whoever has the most points is you winner of that game. The games are played between two teams. There are five different ways to score in the game of football.

The most common way is scoring a touchdown. A touchdown counts as 6 points to your team if you score it. You must have the ball pass the goal line and not your body. There are tons of ways to core a touchdown in football and you will have to look up that because there are too many ways to write about.

When you score a touchdown, you can go for an extra point or a two point conversion. An extra point is when the kicker come out and kicks the ball. The ball is snapped form the 2 yard line so it is a really easy way to get a point.

An extra point is only a 1-point way to score and add to your point total. That's why it says extra point. Rarely do you see a kicker miss an extra point. A two point conversion is, you guessed it, worth 2 points. This can only happen after a touchdown has happened. The offense is placed on the 2-yard line and has to score past the goal line. If you don't pass the goal line with the ball, you get no points.

The other common way to score points is by a field goal. A field goal is kicked by the kicker and has to go through the goal post to count as 3 points. You can get only 3 points on this scoring method. There are no extra points that you can get like you get when you get a touchdown. A field goal will most likely happen when it is 4th down and your team is at most on your opponent's 40-yard line. The 40-yard line is pretty long though even for a pro kicker.

The last way you can score is by a safety. A safety can only happen when your team is on the defensive side of the ball. This counts as only 2 points when it happens. When the defense tackles the offense in their own end zone, you receive 2 points. This is the scoring option that happens the least out of all the scoring ways. And there are no extra ways to score.

Football is a very fun and popular game in America. Yes, playing the game is extremely difficult, but the scoring is very simple. Scoring football is as easy as making toast if you know how to.
