The selfishness, and ignorance of the American society today can explain the entire situation on our economic and food crisis. Over the past hundreds of year, dozens of community leaders have tried to help the situation with world peace but the one main and big cause of death is starvation. Each year over 15 million children die of hunger, and still our country, one of the most successful, still do nothing about this situation.
Personally i think the congress should put the food crisis situation ahead of all the others. If we could give to the 3rd world countries, to all the starving children in Africa that dont even have homes, then I surely would guarantee that the United States would get something in return. It may not be something in physical form but down inside we would understand that we helped a child live another day, or we helped out a family of starving members, but no.
That's just what I want and millions of others want. The congress doesn't care what the civilians want, they want what's best for our country, they don't want to help anyone else in their struggling situations. Millions of people die every year in Saudi Arabia, I say this because if our government could see that they need help, like I said earlier, if you give you will receive.
Saudi Arabia has a mass amount of oil and I dont promise we would get more oil but it's the thought that counts. The world population is at about 6 billion people and yet no one has, can I say, the "guts" to do anything about it. Trust me, if I could change the world, I would in an instant. I mean stopping hunger won't solve all of our problems of course but our top scientists are still trying to find a cure for HIV.
We have to take baby steps before we can walk, and what I mean by that is, all of the world problems won't be solved in just one day, it takes sometime. My statistics that you may be wondering about, come from a very resourceful website wich gives you the world population and the total numbers of death this year, all from starvation. Right now its up to 17 million people and if you by chance want to discover this website its www.starvation.net.
But back to the main topic about our governments selfishness, well I wouldn't call it selfish, I would call it conceited. Even though the world does revolve around the government, the government doesn't give back. We as the community of the United States of America, should give a chance to speak our mind to "the man".
This is a democracy but we don't get to speak our mind all the time. Our country cares about us, no one else but us. If we continue to act this way, we might just start another war and our people don't want that at all. So I am just going to leave you with one more thing. Every 5 seconds, someone in the world dies of starvation, including people from the United States.
