Runescape by Jagex, one of the most popular free to play and pay to play games on the internet which has developed over the years into what you see today. This game is of huge proportions however if you are free to play then many of the benefits memberships hold are forgone and much of the game is restricted. In some senarios where children not permitted to become members due to the $6 to $15 a month fee feel left out and try desperately to gain membership through sneaky activity. However the game is still quite enjoyable for those who enjoy a good grind of skills to player v player battles as well as many mini games available, of course members have a much better range and choice in these activities.
There are 24 skills in Runescape these being;
Attack - essentially your accuracy with melee weapons such as swords and axes (enhanced through better weapons, some weapons require higher attack then others)
Strength - essentially the factor for your max damage (enhanced through better weapons)
Defense - essentially the factor which stops enemies damaging you (enhanced through better armor, some armor require higher armor than others)
Range - factor which determines what bows and arrows you can use and how much damage and accuracy you have when wielding a bow
Prayer - enhanced through the burial of bones which allows the use of certain protective spells and buffs for your character drains your prain points
Magic - affects what spells you can cast and how powerful and accurate your spells are
Construction - allows you to build your own house for enjoyment purposes only
Summoning - allows you to summon pets which fight for you
Farming - allows you to grow certain plants and harvest seeds (seeds are often good for merchanting: buying for low and selling for high to make profit)
Hitpoints - how much damage you can take before you die
Mining - allows the mining of various ores which can be sold or smelted
Smithing - allows the smelting and forging of various metals to make items
Woodcutting - allows the use of different hatchets to cut down different trees to harvest logs which can be used for firemaking, construction and fletching
Fletching - use of logs to make bows and arrow shafts
Firemaking - use of logs to make fires which a player can cook on (chance of burning food)
Runecrafting - use of rune essence to create runes which can be used to cast magic spells
Thievery - stealing from NPC's (non-playable characters)
Slayer - requests to slay a certain
