When you think of Demi Lovato, you might think Disney and the sugarcoated music a lot of the Disney Stars sing. Demi Lovato has proved herself with her singing ability and her rock edge to her songs. She shot up to #1 on the Billboard charts with her new album released July 21 named "Here We Go Again". She wrote all but one song on her album (except the two bonus tracks). She even worked with John Mayer, Nick Jonas, and Jon McLaughlin to make her work sound more mature. All the songs on the album breakaway from the teenybopper sound you might hear from other teen singers. The jazzy sound of "Every time You Lie" channels her inner Joss Stone. She moves to more of a John Mayer sound with songs like "World of Chances" (which is the piece she worked with Mayer), "Stop the World", and "Falling Over Me".
She still stays in the pop sound, but has her edge of rock. She loves heavy metal music. She rocks out with her amazing vocals with songs like "Remember December", "Got Dynamite", "Quiet", "Solo, and more. She definitely breaks the Radio Disney mold in this album. It's not as quite as fizzy sounding as her debut alum "Don't Forget". She did change her sound, but her fans stuck by her.
I think she has an amazing career ahead of her. If you are thinking about buying the album, do it. You will not be disappointed with this 17-year-old Texan. If you're still on the fence about buying the entire album, buy one song (I recommend "Got Dynamite" or "Catch Me") and see how you like her. I rock out to her in the car and just listening to my iPod. She has a song on "Here We Go Again" for every mood you could be in. You could be happy and listen to "Stop the World" or telling a boy he's no good to you in "Every time You Lie" or falling in love in "Falling Over Me".
She executes a great rock-pop album for the second time around. Her voice is amazing. I can't believe I'm listening to a teenager on this album. I have had this album since the first day it was released and I'm still listening to all of it wherever I go. Demi hasn't gotten old to me. She's hear to stay and rock. We will be saying here she's goes again with another #1 album the next time around.
