Recipes: Easy dishes for college students

It's tough sometimes for college kids to find the time to cook a decent meal, as any of us who have attended a university know, and those laborious trips to the university dining commons might be getting a little old. Besides, you've been doing some thinking, and have come to the realization that you want a little something more in your diet than pizza and hamburgers. Well, here is my favorite way to prepare a delicious and nutritious dinner without investing too much time or money (even though I know you'd rather be cooking than studying for midterms).

I present you with my favorite dish:
SPAGHETTI

That's right! Even though you might find this delectable dish in five-star pasta restaurants, there is a very easy and inexpensive way for you to make this on your own. Here is what you'll need:

A Pot
A Spoon
A Pound of Ground Beef ($2)
A pack of spaghetti ($1)
A can of tomato sauce ($1)

As you can see, this meal is inexpensive, costing only $4 to prepare enough for two people to eat for two nights. That's a dollar a meal...try finding a deal better than that at your local mess hall. Furthermore, it's simple to cook, and I'll explain how to do it in a few simple steps.

1) Put a pot of water (about half full) on the stove to boil.
2) After the water is boiling, add the spaghetti and find yourself a pan.
3) Place the 1 pound of ground beef into this pan, and cook it up. Remember to occasionally stir the spaghetti while you're doing this.
4) After the ground beef is cooked, open up that can of ordinary tomato sauce and pour it in. Do not drain the beef first. Mix it all around and let it warm on a low temperature while you drain the spaghetti.
5) SEIZE your pot of soft spaghetti and dump it into a calendar to drain. Then place the spaghetti back into the pot, but make sure the pot is on a cool surface. You don't need to do any more cooking after this point.
6) Pour the sauce into the pot of spaghetti and stir it around really well. Make sure all the spaghetti is saturated with your tasty sauce...this will ensure that it won't stick to itself when you refrigerate it.
7) Finally, enjoy! You have made about enough spaghetti for four meals...you can share it with your roommate or enjoy four meals worth of spaghetti for only a dollar each.
