If you haven't already seen it, that's why your life feels as monotonous and unfulfilling as it does. Kung Pow: Enter the Fist! is only the greatest, most remarkable movie ever created on this planet (or in the entire universe for that matter) and will surely inspire you to do great things.
Kung Pow is a truly heartwarming story about a young kung fu prodigy named Chosen One who, as an infant, escapes the murderous wrath of Master Pain-a crazed evil doer who later changes his name to Betty. After watching his parents get slaughtered and his house torched by Master Pain/Betty, Chosen One flees to the wilderness where he is raised by desert rodents. When he reaches adulthood, Chosen One embarks on a fateful journey to discover the purpose behind his unusual talents (namely a small face that is embedded in his tongue). With the help of his friends and an ancient martial arts master, Chosen One slowly unravels the secrets behind his extraordinary gifts and crafts a strategy to defeat the all-powerful Evil Betty in a nerve-racking showdown. I won't give away the ending, but it's pretty much awesome and involves the French. Put an end to the relentless tedium of work, school, and life in general by renting Kung Pow: Enter the Fist! today! Or you can find me and I'll lend you my stolen copy from Blockbuster.
There is one aspect of the film you will notice right away. In fact, there's the possibility of being downright annoyed by it. Don't be alarmed by the faulty dubbing and half-hearted editing; it's what gives the film some personality! But in all actuality, the film was constructed out of a blend of new footage and the material of a 1970s kung fu saga. Having no clue as to what was actually said in Mandarin, the entire film was redubbed in English with the new footage purposely mismatched for the purpose of continuity. And another fun little fact about the movie-making process- a dramatic waterfall scene transitions perfectly from long-range to close-up with the help of the director's pool. In the end, there is much to be appreciated about this film considering the long hours it took to achieve its raw aesthetic. The humor in Kung Pow, while it may seem unusual at times, also characterizes the film as entirely set apart from other, more mainstream comedies. Whether you're looking for a piece of cinematic genius or simply a good laugh, Kung Pow is sure to provide.
