Nocturnal Patrol
The sun sets on the shoulder of a cloud,
And twilight cloaked the land.
The breeze gentled, night time draped its shroud,
The moonlight reached out its hand.
Night creatures began to stir from their sleep,
Living a life that only they knew.
Shadows quiver and silently creep,
Reputation of evil - untrue.
At rest in the glades, creatures of the day,.
Take ease as they gather their strength.
Protecting their territory, they dare not stray,
This habitat theirs, breadth and length.
The peace of the night permeates the land,
As it lovingly touches its soul.
It asks for nothing, makes no demand,
Entrancing, in a nocturnal patrol.

There's a place not to far from here,
Where the mountains reach the heavens high above,
And lush green
