The pain ripples in waves,
as rain drops upon the rivers edge;
ever widening, becoming one long, infinite tear.
Love , like a pebble,
skips along the water, at first happily,
pluming, then sinking, without a force to carry it through.
Renewing rain dances upon the river's surface,
and like smoke rising on frigid water, the pain,
soon evaporates, and fades from memory.
