Boise, Idaho is a place where the desert meets the Rockies; where cowboys mix with culture; and where there is always something fun to do. From tubing the Boise River to a night at the symphony http://boisephilharmonic.org/... Boise has it all. Between the time when the sun sets over the desert and the time it rises over the mountains, there is fun to be had. Try these five places to experience Boise after dark.
The Plank, 650 S. Vista (208-336-1790). Ahoy, Maties, walk the plank into Boise's only Pirate bar where you'll find a fine selection of more than 55 international beers, but guess what? No rum. The Plank is probably the only pirate bar in the world without rum, but its choice of fine wines and beer is ample refreshment. Add in lots of good bar food (finger steaks and chicken strips are their specialty), darts, and live music, plus a jukebox with unusual tunes, and you're in for scallywag good fun. They even have a reverse happy hour Sunday through Thursday. From 10 p.m. to midnight, you can get bar snacks for $2 and specials on drinks. And if karaoke is your thing, come at 9 p.m. on Thursdays.
Lush, 760 W. Main St. (208-342-5874). No, Lush doesn't refer to being drunk but rather to the lush interior. With its low-lit ambience from candles and small fixtures, Lush has the feeling of a metropolitan bar, something not ordinarily found in Boise. Techno and upbeat music are standard at Lush as are its signature drinks and a huge list of martinis. Martinis include the Nuts and Berry, the Twizzler, the Copa Banana, the Dirty Girl Scout, and the Booty Call. Each contains over two shots of liquor. Lush has a live DJ Friday and Saturday nights. It's a great place to meet friends, dance, listen to music, and enjoy drinks.
Humpin' Hannah's, 621 Main St. (208-345-7557). Humpin' Hannah's has been a favorite nightspot in downtown Boise for three decades. It's usually packed with happy people enjoying the live music in fun surroundings; check out all the stuff on the walls and ceiling! Besides dancing, happy hour, and a long drink menu known for the coldest beer in Boise, HH is also a fun place for billiards and just hanging out. They're open Wed-Fri 3 p.m.-2 a.m. and Sat from 7 p.m to 2 a.m.
The Red Feather Lounge, 246 N. 8th St. (208-429-6340). The Red Feather is a special choice for an elegant night out. With its fine and rare wines, original cocktails, and urban northwest cuisine, the Red Feather will turn your evening into a special occasion. You can eat in the
