You can wear a miniskirt without getting cold
Tights and pantyhose are back in style and leggings, without feet, are still smoking hot, this year - all great to wear in cold weather when you choose to wear a sassy mini skirt but still want to be toasty warm. Warm your toes with Uggs or thigh-high boots and you'll stay warm on the coldest of days. Although this look screams sexy, the wearer is more covered than in many other so-called modest outfits. Add a scarf or even two, mittens and a cut hat and the
Miniskirts are adorable, but even more so when paired with striped or textured tights or leggings. If the mini skirt is plaid or patterned, then single color leg wear looks the best.
Fishnets and other highly textured leg wear go well with casual minis, like those made of denim or corduroy fabric. Thinner tights, made of nylon blends or synthetic fabrics are dressy yet still keep legs warm. These tights go well with velvet and satin minis and are more suitable for evening wear.
Tights made out of Lycra, not only warm your legs but shape them too. The gentle compression of the tights keeps thighs from jiggling and bottoms from sagging, an added benefit of wearing Lycra tights or leggings.
Knee high and thigh-high stockings can be worn with miniskirts but truly create a school girl look that looks best on school girls!
Women wearing knee highs or thigh highs with miniskirts can often look like something you'd see in a "men's" magazine rather than a fashion magazine. If you love the look, save it for Halloween or a costume party but don't wear it to the grocery store.
Leggings and tights come in a variety of fabrics and yarns, and the very warmest are wool blends or ones made from a thick cotton jersey material. If you want to wear a special miniskirt and you know you're going to be walking around outside and exposed to cold temperatures, layer up.
First put on a pair of silk leggings that fit you like a second skin. Then on top put the wool leggings and last your knee or thigh high boots. You will stay warm and still look wonderful and rock that little miniskirt without having to shiver at all.
Once part of a dancer's apparel, leg warmers, became a fashion fad in the 1980s and are making a huge comeback now. Leg warmers are knit socks that have no feet, so they can be pulled up over a dancers naked legs, then taken off by slipping them down and off the feet without removing the dancer's toe shoes.
Leg warmers are great for miniskirt wearers because you can layer them over your tights or leggings for extra warmth but can slip them off easily if you feel warm enough with just the tights. They also look very cute matched with a miniskirt and can be worn pulled up or "slouched" down by the calves.
There's no need to put your miniskirt in cold storage for the fall and winter months. Heat up the winter by wearing your cute mini paired with tights, leggings, and leg warmers, and you can wear your fashionable but tiny miniskirts without ever being the least bit cold.
