If you are playing on a football team and you want to win the game, then every player on the team must have one goal in mind. that goal is to get the football across the goal line. Setting goals in life is much like getting your ball across a finish line. If you just stand still nothing will get done. Success is not standing still.
What does success mean to you? Right now what do you want to be successful in? I believe that before you can obtain success in whatever you desire, you must set a goal. Maybe you had a goal to finish your education, change careers, or write that great novel. Success has different definitions to many people. Whatever your specific goal is in life, it takes much preparation in getting the ball, your goal, across the finish line.
If I try to get to point B, I must first start at point A. How will I get there? Do you think that it will just come up to me and then I will be there? No there must be some steps I must take in order to get there. In Ephesians 6 Paul writes about putting the whole armour of God on that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Paul goes on to say that we must be prepared; for we wrestled not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. We surely will need God to keep us with the right spirit to move us forward to reach our successful place in life.
Being successful takes committment to that one thing. No matter what kind of dart the enemy may throw at you, you just duck and keep on moving. You keep stepping until your acheive your goal. Don't let what others may think of you turn you away from your goal. What God thinks of you should matter most in your life. Never stop pursuing. Get your mind and thoughts in order so that your goal can be reached. If you are feeling down or weary about your success, cancel the pity party. Push yourself to the limit , that is what most successful people do. It may not be easy, but if you put your trust in the Lord it will turn out right.
