This question has been ask for too long already. Should homosexuals receive all the rights and benefits of marriage? It is really a no brainer. Of course they should. After all are they not people just like heterosexuals. These prejudice and stereotypical beliefs and laws should be thrown out by now. Especially in a so called free country.
If a homosexual couple falls in love and wishes to take it a step further that should be their right. This debate shouldn't even be had this day in time. We should have, as intelligent people, evolved way beyond these type of arguments. However we seem to linger on with racial and discriminating ideas forever. It just doesn't seem fair.
When a hetero couple decides to get married they will have all rights given by this country and its courts of law. Yet when a gay couple decides the same thing. They are denied. Not only the rights and benefits but sometimes the right to be married at all. If this isn't a form of discrimination I don't know what is? The laws for marriage should be changed already. People need to look past marriage as a commitment between a man and a woman. To see what it really is. The bond between two people that care very deeply for each other. So much so that they are willing to make drastic lifestyle changes. Then in a since become joined in matrimony as one. This should be a very beautiful time of celebration for anyone. However it is not. The gay community is still very much in a battle with officials over such basic things as equal rights. Which these same officials claim to be enforcing already. I would like to know where and how. It's definitely not with marriage in this country.
I strongly believe that marriage should be a happy time and celebrated for the couple no matter what sex they are. Along with this sacred bond the rights should be. If it is a right, and it is said to be, then how can it not be expected to accompany the marriage ties. Of man and woman or a homosexual bride and groom.
No matter what type of wedding it is. The couple should receive any and all rights and benefits that come with such an occasion. Whether it be the marriage certificate or something as important as the last will and testament agreement. They should have the rights. They do not as of yet. Marriage is something that has to be decided on by the couples getting married not the lawyers or judges. If they are in love I say let them get married. Homosexual or heterosexual it really doesn't matter. There is already too much stereotyping going on in the world. Whomever you are just let each other live happily.
Marriage is a beautiful thing to be cherished for all time. It should not be discouraged by anyone. Especially those that claim to give equal rights to everyone. If they will just wake up and realize. Then they will see that it doesn't matter who the couple is. They should just be happy for them. They should definitely give the benefits and rights that go along with marriage. I hope one day this will be reality for any and all that wish to be joined together in holy matrimony.
