wake up.
I can pull the curtains back,
to let the light in and fall on my
scraped knees and scarred legs.
yesterday's make up on my cheeks.
you wipe the black away,
leaving a blushing face.
yesterday's tears on my pillow and sheets.
you kiss the remainder of them away,
leaving a glowing peace.
yesterday's pain deadening the sun.
you pull me outside,
and hold me until I feel nothing but joy.
all eyes catch my flaws,
yet your eyes see none.
all love comes with demands,
yet your love is nothing but perfection.
all minds doubt,
yet you trust.
all lips question,
yet you would let me run -
knowing I will run right back to you.
my heart is broken and unwilling and hidden,
but you are coaxing it out.
