It is safe to say that Sony, and its Play station brand, have had it's proper piece of success. But what is it, or was it, about the Sony Play station that made it so successful? There are a few factors that really helped the Sony Play station rise to the great level of gaming that it produces today.

The first aspect of the Sony Play station was that it was different. The Play station took a whole new approach on gaming. Instead of the common plastic shells that video games usually came in, Sony decide to go against the grain a bit and use compact disks instead. This kind of video game enhancement wasn't really popular at the time. This was a great product move by Sony. Also, the Sony Play station had a different, sleeker look. It kind of had a futuristic look that was not like all the other gaming consoles. This helped to attract even more gamers for the simple fact that almost everyone is attracted to the new thing. Sony was definitely the new thing for the times.

Another aspect of the Sony Playstation that aided in its success was the obvious increase in graphics. It is one thing for a gaming system to have a nice look on the outside, but what about the games? That is what the true gamers care about. Do the games look good. And of course, the games looked good as well. Sony managed to match the nice new look of the console with the fancy graphics of the games. Also to add to the aspect of the games, there were several new gaming companies who wanted to produce games for this new system. This enthusiasm only improved upon the great situation that Sony already made for themselves. The more companies competing to make games for the console, the better the quality of games. It is a win win situation.

Bottom line, Sony hit the video gaming market at a time when the industry needed a boost, and Sony was able to provide that boost via the Sony Play station. Fortunately for all of the gamers worldwide, Sony continued to improve upon the previous system by producing an even better system with the Play station 2 and now the Play station 3. Although the gaming cconsole competition is a little tougher, Sony still manages to shine a little brighter than the rest. Sony has come a long way from the original Sony Play station, and they continue to impress.
