About same-sex marriage.
I have been thinking about this for awhile and have been debating with many people on online forums and talking about it with my friends for a long time. It really should not be a huge concern for us, as our country and state have the economic downturn to deal with, but it means a lot to many people and concerns and affects them greatly.
The first thing is that marriage is a word. It's literal meaning from Merriam-Webster:
marriage

14th century

I beg to differ as marriage has been in documents older than the Bible, and at around the same time in different cultures and religions as the Bible. Also, the Bible was written by humans, who "claimed" to be writing the word of god. To me, it's just a story with some well-known people in it. I know that certain religions find it hard to believe that some people DO NOT believe in their god(s). That is where this whole thing goes wrong.

As soon as this came about, the Catholic Diocese, the Maine Marriage Alliance, and the Maine Family Policy Council (formerly the Christian Civic League of Maine) voiced their opposition and the forming of petitions to collect signatures to eradicate this as law.
The most upsetting thing about all of these is that they
