With the fantastic sunny weather in Dallas, there are many great options to get exercise outdoors. Dallas is home to many beautiful parks as well as natural trails that are great for taking a run or a bike ride. Here is a list of some of these great exercise options in Dallas.
First, you can check out White Rock Lake Park, located at 8300 East Lawther Drive. This park has nine miles of hiking trails that each have beautiful views of the lake. There you can take a nice jog or bike ride and enjoy the surroundings at the same time.
The next great exercise option is the Dallas Nature Center, at 7171 Mountain Creek Parkway, just south of Interstate 20. The Dallas Nature Center is a beautiful 600-acre park containing ten miles of hiking trails that you can take a ride or go for a jog. The scenery is natural and gorgeous, so you can just soak in the beauty as you are exercising.
Kiest Park, located on South Hampton Road in the southern part of Dallas, contains two and a half miles of trails in a wooded area. It is a beautiful location that makes for a fantastic place to get exercise. Another great Dallas park is Bachman Lake Park, on Bachman Drive, which also has a nice path for jogging. This path loops around the lake for three miles in total, and is is a popular spot for exercise.
Finally, there are many trails located in the northeast part of Dallas, such as the Cottonwood Trail, the Preston Ridge Trail, and the White Rock Creek Greenbelt Trail. Each of these trails can be used for hiking or jogging, and offer unique scenery.
Dallas can get quite hot, so there are times where you may choose to workout indoors. For these instances, you can join one of the many gyms or health clubs located within Dallas. Within the city there are several locations of the nationwide gym chains of 24-hour Fitness, Pulse Fitness, Bally Total Fitness and Golds Gym, as well as many other fitness clubs. Check the Internet to find gyms that are located in a convenient place for you and go check them out. Be sure to ask to see if they have enough machines to support the number of people who attend the gym, that they have the particular equipment that you seek, offer classes that are of interest to you, and have membership fees that will fit in your budget.
With the many great exercise locations in Dallas, you will have fun and can appreciate the natural beauty of this city as you are working out.
