Is the Devil entirely an enemy of God?

Most people see the Devil as an enemy because of their upbringing. Being told what is as a child and what isn't is what parents do, because their parents did the same thing. I remember going to church as a child and hearing how evil and nasty that old Devil was, until I hit the age of reason.. or the point to where I began questioning not only authority, but what I've been told all my life. Now, it isn't a lie that the Devil is a bad person, far from it. It's just that the Devil works WITH God in making sure God's will is the only thing you know or understand. Take Job for example. Poor Job was a victem of the Devil due to a bet or question of devotion, and boy did the Devil do a job on him.. no pun intended. The Devil was ALLOWED by God to do the things that happened (Job1:12) and the poor man lost everything, even cursing the day he was born.

Through this others were to learn two lessons.. one is that God and only God is in control, and two is that through trials and tribulations God makes us who we are to be. You might be saying, "Who we are to be?" and yes.. that's what I meant. According to Psalms 139:13-16 "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." If an enemy can come before God with that kind of power, to equal it as most people seem to think, I shudder to think of what that enemy can or could do.. but that isn't the case.

A wonderful comedian named Bill Hicks who died many years ago made this comment during a performance, "The Devil.. that still exists? That concept? Does it really? Does it really exist? A Devil? Does it really ya'll, well tell me something what can oppose God's will?" Total silence from the crowd then, "Nothing could it. It's a delightful little realization. NOTHING can oppose God's will! Not nothing!" That being the case, and most people who know realize that there's one God, why would anyone even THINK that there would be a Devil? Maybe it's God on a bad day. Maybe people can't fathom the idea of a loving and merciful God being a wrecking ball of destruction. Just look at the people in the Bible who went through total chaos to get to where they were supposed to be. Look at Jesus and what he went through toward his end. He wasn't screaming "Why have you forsaken me," for no reason. People can't fathom God's ultimate plan because so many factors go into it.. including our little buddy the Devil.

In the beginning God created everything, and that means everything, including confusion. At the Tower of Babel it wasn't the Devil who confused the speech of those united and one, but it was God. I still believe in God, in all God's many forms, and love God with my heart.. even if God can be a Devil. That's the dual face that makes it one once you see past the smoke and mirrors of what people think of God as. No one really knows, and that's fine with me.
