Great places to exercise in Rochester, NY

Rochester, New York is a beautiful city full of rich scenic views. Within this city, there are several great places where you can get exercise and take advantage of the beauty the city offers at the same time. Here is a guide describing just a few of these great locations in and around Rochester, where you can get exercise.

The first great exercise location is the Genesee Riverway Trail, which is a phenomenal place to get exercise in Rochester. As a very popular trail, you can enjoy going for a jog, walk, a bike ride or go rollerblade. Along the trail, there are gorgeous views of the Genesee River. The path traverses a total of thirteen miles that links the Erie Canal Heritage Trail, the Genesee Greenway Trail, the Port of Rochester and downtown Rochester. The trail is well maintained and includes several walking bridges to cross the Genesee River. It passes through several scenic attractions such as a gorge, three waterfalls, the Lake Ontario Lighthouse and more. In winter months this trail is also quite popular for athletes, as it is used by skaters and cross-country skiers.

The next great place to enjoy a jog or bike ride is at Seneca Park. Within this park there are several miles of trails that have scenic views of the Genesee River gorge as well as a cute pond. While some of these trails are paved, suitable for jogging and biking, others are natural allowing you to enjoy a more strenuous hike with even more beautiful views. So, whether you are a jogger, biker, or hiker, Seneca Park will be a great exercise location for you.

Churchville Park is another great place to get exercise, as it is home to several facilities perfect for team sports. You can play tennis at one of the tennis courts, join a soccer game at the soccer field, play a game of baseball at one of the diamonds, or softball at the softball field, play a round of golf at the public golf course, or even play disc golf at the available course. In addition, you can partaking in skating at the public skating rink, whether you enjoy figure skating, ice hockey, or just skating in general. As you can see, there are tons of ways to get exercise in Churchville Park, no matter what your athletic interest is in. The question is, which sport do you want to play today?

As you can see, Rochester, New York is home to many great locations for exercise, so there is no excuse for getting out of shape!
