Buffalo, New York is a beautiful city, and there are tons of great places to go for a nice jog to get exercise. Here is a guide highlighting some of the locations where you can enjoy a run.
With the many beautiful parks and nature preserves in and around Buffalo, it is no wonder it is such an active city. The first great location to go for a jog is the Tifft Nature Preserve. At this beautiful nature preserve, located in South Buffalo, there is gorgeous scenery along the trails. Along your jog you can notice the beautiful views of the local marshland and wetland, observe local wildlife, as you are getting exercise. In total, there are five miles of trails to enjoy. The area is very peaceful and beautiful, making for a great place to go for a run.
The next great location for a jog is Delaware Park, which was designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, who the man responsible for the world-class Central Park in New York City. Located in the north part of Buffalo, Delaware Park holds several miles of trails that offer scenic views. In addition you can enjoy the lovely Rose Gardens that is also located in the park, where you can view the beautiful flowers and plants while you are jogging. If you prefer to jog a loop, you can run around Hoyt Lake for a total of four miles. Finally, if you prefer jogging around a track, Delaware Park boasts a quarter-mile track that is perfect for running workouts. As you can see, there are several ways to go for a jog at this wonderful park.
Next, you can go for a nice jog at Woodlawn Beach State Park. Here you can jog along beach for a total of one mile, as you can enjoy the crisp white sand and the crashing waves. There are also several nature trails located in Woodlawn Beach State Park that can make for a great extension on your jog. Here you can enjoy the lovely beach scenery while you get fresh air and good exercise!
Finally, if you prefer to jog on a treadmill, you can check out one of the several health clubs and gyms located in the Buffalo area. You will find that there are tons of options within the city, so find one that is a good fit for you. In some of the gyms, you can even watch and control your own cable tv as you are jogging, so it is worth visiting each gym ahead of time to see if they offer what you are looking for in a gym.
With the many great jogging locations to take advantage of, you will have no trouble getting proper exercise in Buffalo, New York.
