DECEPTION

See it beaming with smile!
Yet, so shallowly placed!
See it looking so gay
Nay, not skin-deep
That face! that face!

Never mind, not at all
It's all a make-up
It's but a face-mask
And a-a-all some falsehood!

For in this heart
The very voice of sadness sings
And sorrows sleep with sad pillows
For in this heart of hypochondriac's
Hopelessness howls his eulogy
Its sad fingers on the pertinent Pen
Scribbling! Scribbling! Scribbling!
Its saddening woeful tales
Yet that face, rarely reflecting.
