Video games that should be made into movies

Video games are possibly one of the greatest representations of our modern culture. With every advancement made in the technology of videogames, a representation of an advancement in modern culture comes about. It only makes sense that some of the deep, more involving storylines would be a great idea for a movie. Some games already have their own movies, such as Final Fantasy: Advent Children, which is a continuation of its Playstation counterpart. Other games such as Shadow of the Colossus, that leave gamers in amazement over its ideal graphics and intricate map would be fantastic opportunities for movie roles, as the guarantee of visually stunning special effects would be a great chance to show what modern special effects can do, as well as appeal to the large mass that enjoys the game as much as they would a movie.

In many opinions, there are hundreds of games that could be potential box office hits in a large variety of genre's. Most would prefer a game that is more famous for its storyline than anything else, (so sorry Tom Clancy, looks like you're staying where you are). The story of these games has deeply involving and interesting. Also it needs to run in a fashion that there is a fully explained plot, and at least one plot twist. Other games have or could potentially excel at other genres; including Resident Evil, a popular horror game with a successful movie franchise or the full story off F.E.A.R.

Others, like the Zelda series which were hits with the gamer crowd since its introduction on the Super Nintendo, would also be good for a non-story-related movie, (it needs to be original for it to work though) the diehard fans of which there is no doubt would pay big money to go see. Even a Mario game could rise through the ranks merely because, unlike other non game related movies, most people know and enjoy the character already.

Although many games could be considered worthy of a movie deal, there is a large calling for that Shadow of the Colossus movie. Rumors that a movie with the famed colossus-killing hero is already in the making, and millions of people all over the world will get their wish, (but again, it's only a rumor so don't get your hopes up).

Video games are usually ideal topics for a movie because the story, detail, and altogether craft of video games were made for pulse pounding action. Many gamers enjoy these game-to-movie titles because there's always a certain quality that can't be beat by a straightforward movie. Also, for those who have played the game, it gives them a sense of actually being there, because, in a way, they have been there before.
