Views of death

by Harry Burlington

We all face death, whether it comes from losing a loved one, friend, or someone you admire, death will come. As we near death, unfortunately every second we move closer, we complete a task that was meant to be done, prior to us leaving. Whether that be giving your wife a kiss on the forehead before getting out of bed to do you daily writing, the life we live is not written out ( I believe) but is full of jobs that need to be done.

We've all seen the books that state life is a well-planning journey, already in place for us, and all we need to do is fulfill our Higher Power's wishes. I am not saying life isn't already planning for us, I just firmly believe that each day we are presented with challenges (whether minute or expansive) that are what we need to accomplish, or at least attempt to finish, and that is how judgment is made upon us when the body's time on Earth has ended.

I saw a man yesterday, who was involved in a severe motorcycle wreck and it appeared that he had not survived the crash. The paramedics were not moving with purpose and his body was being moved off the road. Did he know his time was expired yesterday, immediately before rounding that corner and then being struck by a car not seeing him due to a very strong Western sun glare, among other reasons as well?

No, but did the man complete his life's challenges' and earned the right to move on? I am sure of that, which is only my opinion and is loosely affiliated with religion or a certain reason. My emotions go out to that man's family and I pray they can find guidance from their beliefs to help through these troubled times. Although that man, his family, and all who care about him did not want him to leave this Earth, but life internally was complete and he was chosen by a power (many of which are much greater than any of us)

As you read this, the question may come up; who does he think his views are believed by? I find that response totally okay, it's not that I am a prophet naming off the next events in life. No, I am creatively expressing my opinion on why we are here, what our purpose is, and when does the important business of life, finally come to end for everyone.

Now, why does a three year old die of Leukemia, suffer through chemotherapy for a majority of his life, then is taken from this Earth and dies? It is a very tough scenario being lived by thousands of children and their families everyday and it has almost no understanding of why such a horrific event would happen, touch
