Christianity and the question of "riches"

Repeatedly the Bible tells us how God wants His people to be prosperous.

Yet many still live from paycheck to paycheck. Why is this?

The church has been deceived concerning this almost, Taboo subject. In addition, most will argue the validity of Godly wealth, although it is in scripture.

Job was rich. Abraham was rich. King David and King Solomon were rich.. The Israelites when they left Egypt were rich. Joseph was rich. Daniel was rich. Isaac was rich. And yes Jesus was rich. His disciples were rich.

Time and time again we see the flow of money in scripture.

The story of the woman with the two mites has Jesus at the treasury watching the giving of money. Jesus replying when the woman gave all that she had saying she gave out of her need. There is a whole another lesson in that as far as giving. Which leads us to this;

one of the culprits of this money issue is in 1 Timothy 6:10 saying the love of money being the root of all evil. However, it is.

Those interpreting this in the past, not understanding, have made this a theme song of sorts to keep God's people poor, and under control. It is actually a demonic deception. (John 10:10)

There are more scriptures on the subject of prosperity, than on any other subject in the Bible. Therefore, it must be important to God, and there are things He wants His people to know. Even in the descriptions of Heaven speak of wealth. Golden streets and gates made of pearl. There is nothing wrong with wealth and prosperity. The world has turned it into an evil, not God. Our lustful flesh has made wealth bad. Not God.

Why then would God say this in Deuteronomy 8?

17 and beware lest you say in your [mind and] heart, My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.

18 But you shall [earnestly] remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives, you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant, which He swore to your fathers, as it, is this day.

19 And if you forget the Lord your God, walk after other gods (such as mammon), serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that you shall surely perish.

20 Like the nations which the Lord makes to perish before you, so shall you perish, because you would not obey the voice of the Lord your God. (Does this last verse sound like the peril America is facing right now in 2009?)

God gives us the power to get wealth. Therefore, we must do it according to His plan, and so then Money is not evil, it is our motivation behind money that is evil.

It is our right
