The reason why I love photography is that it is an art form and if it is done the right way and captured in the most natural way, it can be very inspirational. It can be breath-taking to see your version of a perfect sunset or just looking out at the ocean from the beach can be magical.
I love photography because it gives me a way to express emotions to others in a way that they can understand.
I love photography because it is unique and teaches us that no matter how alike the world is, each person's interpretation of a single photograph can vary widely, thus creating individualism.
I love photography because there are no rules or guidelines for "posing" subjects or getting the background just right.
I love photography because pictures of animals doing funny things strike me as humorous and often put a smile on my face. I almost ran for my camera the other day when the cat was attempting to climb from the counter to the garbage can. I stood in the dinning room and waited to see if he was going to fall face first into the trash can. That would have been a funny picture to have of the cat falling into the garbage can.
I love that photography has no boundaries.
I love that photography can be very controversial.
I love that photography is personal yet at the same time is so real and not personal.
I love to take pictures of beaches, family, friends, animals, nature, candid shots of shoppers in the mall, and definitely on trips to the store and vacations. My photographs are the introduction to who I am and who I want to be. If I didn't want to be a photographer, I would not try so hard to get the perfect pictures. I have a favorite photo that I took with my husband's cell phone the last time we went to the mountains. I took a picture of this stream with rocks and water and for a cell phone picture, I have to say it was the best one that I have taken so far. (The only reason I used a cell phone instead of my camera was because we let my camera take a swim and it did survive.)
I love photography because it is relaxing to take pictures of what you love the most. I love being able to call myself a photographer.
