What on earth is happening to this world? Why does the whole world seem to be going so crazy and why are so many bad things happening? Even Christians seem to be shocked at how bad things are becoming.

The truth is, things have been just as bad as they are now many times throughout history, right back to Jesus' time and the earlier times before that.

When Moses went up on Mt. Sinai, it didn't take long at all for people to toss God aside and start participating in all kinds of perversion, and it is said that people were the epitome of evil in Noah's time. There are so many other times recorded throughout the Bible and in history, where it seemed almost certain the end of the world would happen at any moment! Nothing about today is any different than it has been countless times in the past.

One cannot help but wonder why things seem to be getting worse lately, and why it did at other specific times in history. What makes evil abound so profoundly at certain times? I think the main reason is because man is naturally sinful and when left to his own devices, he will undoubtedly create chaos. It actually takes a lot of self control to resist evil and do what's right; it doesn't come naturally. When man lets go of self control, he unleashes his natural sinful state and delves quite easily into all kinds of perverse things.

These days, with laws permitting so much, (all in the name of freedom) man has gradually been letting go of self control more and more. No wonder sin abounds and there are more pedophiles, pornography, rapes, incest, murders, "un-natural affections," children turning on their parents, and God knows what else. We have been given so many "rights" and freedoms, and expected to tolerate everything, no one knows where to draw the line any more.

Even words that used to have clear meanings, no longer mean the same thing to people. It all depends on how each individual "perceives" it. And there is no longer right or wrong; everyone is right in their own sense. It seems there are no longer any guidelines or limits to anything.

The only way to restore order and stop the escalating crime and chaos we have created, is to return to the things we, as a society, have always known to be right and wrong. This new society we are trying to create is failing and no one wants to admit it. We've become a wild society, like animals roaming the earth, doing what comes naturally. Man was not created to be like dumb animals that rely solely on their natural instincts. Man was created, having the intelligence to weigh the costs of his actions, because what comes naturally to him is sin.
