I think that Obama is changing this country for the worse. Now I'm sure he may be a really nice guy but I'm talking about his policies, not his personal appeal to the people. During the election we were given a brief overview of where we were heading when he broached the subject of racism.
To be sure there would be some people who did not like him because of skin color. And I don't agree with that mentality at all. Am I a fan of Obama? No. But I disagree with him on his issues and beliefs.
It starts with his spending 787 billion dollars. I know, Bush started it with TARP and I didn't agree with that choice either, however, Obama is now taking it to extremes. Spending money like it grew on trees and maybe our government thinks it does. They started printing money to back up what they spent and selling our debt to China.
The people's Republic could own this country if they called in our marker. Not wise. Maybe he truly thought that he was doing the right thing to help the economy but so far less than ten percent of that stimulus has been spent. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't this money for shovel ready projects?
What is so shovel ready about sending 200 million to help the John Murtha airport that has less than 20 passengers a day? Or money to help turtles cross the road? See where I'm going with this? A lot of money that is spent on nothing.
We can then move to cap-n-trade. How much will that cost us? The Global Warming crisis rears its ugly head, again. At what point is enough going to be enough? Maybe he has good intentions with this but we all know what road is paved with those. In his own words he said that this bill would necessitate raising energy prices. What? Are you kidding me.
How many people pay unnecessarily high-energy prices now? All of that to combat global warming that is now said not be happening for another 20 years. First we have to get a little colder.
And now we come to the health care reform bill. 1,017 pages that few, if any in congress has read. That would include the President. A bill no one has read and they wish to pass it, correction, wished to have passed it before August recess. To late. Now we have all of the town halls where the average American can voice his or her opinion for and against it.
What do we hear about these town hallers, from congress: they are astro-turf. They are un-American. They are Nazi's. From the state run media: they are racists. All of this because you disagree with change. This is America and the last time I checked, dissent-according to the left-is patriotic and now it's not.
When people went against Bush over the war, that was patriotic and now that people are standing up for what they believe in, in this case the health care reform act, they are standing against this monster. The government should not be allowed in to your medical care, period.
So, when you ask my opinion if Obama is changing the country, yes, and not for the better. He may or may not be a bad person, I don't know. Never met the man. But his policies, in my opinion, are bringing down this country.
