Fun activities to do with your preschooler

Preschooler's love to spend time doing things with their parents. It doesn't have to be anything elaborate or expensive. The time together is what counts. Creative parents will find they can even turn fun activities with preschoolers into learning experiences with the child none the wiser.

Some fun activities to do with your preschooler inside include finger painting and crafts. Children love being creative so finger painting is always a big hit. That the activity is messy is just another point it its favor in a child's mind, so don't take the fun out of the activity by being too uptight. Put a drop cloth or sheet down under the table and let your preschooler have at it!

Your child will really be excited if you display his or her artwork for all to see, so after finger painting, work on making a frame for the artwork. Popsicle sticks make a great boarder for artwork and children can easily work with them.

Playing dress up, baking cookies, and building a tent in the livingroom floor are other indoor activities preschoolers will enjoy.

Preschoolers who indulge their creative side will be more outgoing, inquisitive and happier, so parents should always include activities that call for using the imagination when playing with their children.

Head outside and play tag with your child. Chasing them around the yard and having a tickle fest when you catch them is a very fun activity to do with your preschooler. Physical activity is important for children of all ages, even preschoolers. Parents who play outside with their children set a good example for later in life.

Ring around the rosy and hopscotch are other fun activities to do with your preschooler outside that also lend themselves to teaching math. Playing on a swing set, jumping on the trampoline, and drawing with chalk on the driveway are other activities to do with preschoolers outside.

Read aloud to your preschooler. Young children love to have their parents read to them, and it is even better when the parent acts out scenes from the book and speaks like the characters would. Put on a show for your child every night and they will remember it for a lifetime.

The main thing to remember when deciding what activities to do with your preschooler really is to have fun. Children love to laugh and who better to laugh with than their parents? Any activity can be enjoyable to a preschooler if the parents make it so. Be a little goofy and lighthearted and you are sure to find plenty of fun activities to do with your preschooler.
