American Idol is one of the most popular current television shows with a mix of adrenaline-laced drama, complete vocal prowess, and undying suspense. The voice is one of the most powerful instruments. It can offer joy, sadness, mystery, romance, and practically any other feeling. There have been a total of four unique judges in American Idol. From the petite and soft-spoken Paula Abdul to Simon Cowell, who strikes fear in any contestant he judges. The object of American Idol is to take singers off the street, who are filled with hopes and dreams, and give them the chance to alter their life forever.
In the beginning of each season, the judges, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul, and the newest addition, Kara Dioguardi, travel around to different areas of the United States to audition contestants. Some of the contestants will blow your breath away, some are mediocre, and some are downright horrendous. It is intriguing to see what the judges have to say about the terrible contestants. If the judges simply adore the audition, then they will make a consensus and proclaim the famous saying, "You're going to Hollywood!." When the judges are finished traveling across the country, and the auditions are over, then the drama will kick in. Hollywood weak features all of the passed contestants from the auditions. They will compete in either groups, or on their own to win the judges over. There is pure emotion throughout because if you make one wrong move, your hopes will be shattered.
After the Hollywood round, the contestants will be whittled down. Next, they will compete on a stage in front of a small audience. They will each sing songs, and the judges will vote to see who will leave. After that round, it will be down to twenty-four contestants. They will remain on the stage in front of the audience, but now America will be the judges. The judges will continue to voice their opinions, but they will not decide if they leave or not. When it is even more whittled down, then they will move to a very large stage in front of a massive crowd. They will continue to sing for America until there is only one contestant left: the American Idol. There are many perks to winning American Idol. The largest bonus is the signing contract that they receive. Even the contestants that don't win will still receive perks; they will be famous, and they will have a good chance for a record contract.
Throughout the years, American Idol has been very famous because it lets you get to know different contestants. You will choose who's vocal style and character you like, and you will be able to vote for that contestant. The judges are all unique from each other, and they offer interesting views. There are humorous moments, serious moments, and powerful moments throughout the entire season. In conclusion, American Idol is the perfect chance to help someone with hopes and dreams to obtain glory.
