Downtown Vancouver neighborhoods are interesting, unique and appealing.  Residents and visitors alike enjoy a variety of experiences in these closely connected, unique neighborhoods, most of which are within walking distance of each other.

Gastown situated on Water Street on the water front offers spectacular views of the North Shore mountains and is in an area that has undergone significant improvements. Gastown attracts thousands of visitors each year. Highlights include numerous restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and shops of every description. Visitors are both interested in and intrigued by the unique steam clock, which is world renowned. Also in this location is the Waterfront station, which includes the Skytrain and Seabus Terminal, giving easy access to numerous outlying areas.

Robson Street is the center of the downtown shopping area.  Featured here are numerous brand name and exclusive shops. This area is also notable for its variety of restaurants and coffee bars.  Robson Street Plaza is converted to a skating rink in the winter months. There are also other forms of entertainment in this location throughout the year.

Downtown Granville has an array of shops, restaurants and is home to the Commodore Ballroom and the Orpheum Theatre. It is here that you can take in performances by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and see the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame Starwalk. Brian Adams and Sarah McLachlan are just two of the names you will see here. The Vancouver Art Gallery, along with native art galleries are also in this vicinity.

Davie Village is in the West End and is notable as a gay community. The surrounding community is comprised predominantly of high rise residences. Patio restaurants and neighbourhood bars are open 24 hours a day.

English Bay is also in the West End and just a block away from Davie Village. This is an area of sandy beaches and boats. You can rent a bike and go around the park or just take in the view. Coffee shops, restaurants and specialty shops abound.

Coal Harbour precedes the entrance to Stanley Park and the Vancouver Aquarium, two of Vancouver's most famous attractions. Walking along the sea wall one is awed by the buildings on one side and the view on the other. There are a number of 5 star hotels and restaurants, as well the Vancouver Convention Center and Canada Place, both of which host numerous events each year.
