Best vacation destinations for a nature-filled getaway

Get them while they last! The best travel destinations for a nature-filled getaway mostly depend upon what types of nature you want to see or be involved with. If you want to go camping in the backwoods of Alaska, or just in your backyard, there is nature to be found. All inclusive resorts on tropical islands are great for experiencing nature in the Summer, especially during monsoon season. Deciding which type of nature you want to see, interact with, live in or explore is the first part of deciding where the best vacation destinations for a nature-filled getaway are for you, personally or as a group.

Get them while they last! The Rocky Mountains, the Grand Canyon, Algonquin Park (Ontario, Canada), the Northern climes along Alaska and the Arctic Ocean, or even South and Central America will all hold some treasures of nature for many people. If you are travelling alone, it is usually best to play it safe and vacation in a group, or a resort-type of setting, where there are guides and/or other people, just like you, who want to do the same things that you want to do. Anywhere along the ocean shores, where the waters are warm enough to swim in is great for aquatic nature seekers. For those with more adrenaline, zip-lining along a boreal forests' treeline would most likely encompass you in more nature than you will ever see again. If that is not your cup of tea, there is always white water rafting down a mountain's glacial river, and you can play hide and seek with the grizzly bears.

Get them while they last! Rain forests. Why not? You already know most of the wildlife and geography of where you live, and most likely the surrounding few hundred miles as well. If you want a nature-filled getaway, then get away! Go, and see, or get involved with, nature at it's extreme, and not something that you have already experienced. Rain forests are unique, and offer a glimpse into what life was like on the planet thousands of years ago. There are animals, insects, fish and birds that will be extinct within 12 months (no matter when this is read) in rain forests, and each rain forest is unique from the others. If you have seen one rain forest, you most definitely have not seem them all.

Get them while they last! The deep blue 'yonder. For the more wealthy adventurer, you can always explore the bottom of the Minas Basin, any corral reef structure, or the bottom of any deep and ancient, volcanic or glacial lake. They are just laying there, waiting to be explored, with species older than mankind waiting to say hello. Deep water scuba diving licenses and gear would be required, though. Unless, of course, you own your own submarine. And, if you do, please do not tell me that it's painted yellow.

Enjoy your trip. And your nature, while it lasts.
