TELL THEM
Tell the executioner
He has nothing here to kill
Unless he can slay
The Lord's chosen way
Or crush His sovereign will
Tell them they can spill my blood
And kick my corpse around
But the Gospel I preach
Will continue to reach
The souls within this town
And tell them they can lock me up
And throw away the key
But to renounce Christ
I will not be enticed
So they'll never hear that from me
And tell the media following
They can twist the facts around
They can try and try
To lie and lie
But the Truth will still resound
And inform the heckling masses
That I cannot play their game
There's work to be done
For the Father and Son
So to glorify God's name
And please alert the Congress,
The President and the Court
Their unjust laws
Are full of flaws
Great truths they do distort
For I do not trust in princes
Nor the guy I voted for
I trust the Most High
And I'll tell you why:
He's higher than Bush or Gore
I'll do my civic duty
Yes, I'll cast my vote on time
And I'll send the mail
In hopes we prevail
On the legislative climb
But the act that mostly matters
Is not the ballot cast
But the bend of the knee
And the Heavenward plea
To the One Who's First and Last
For the greatness of a nation
Has less to do with rules
Than the faith of each heart
In which it must start
For unguided, men are fools
So perhaps our land will crumble
And continue to decay
To despicable lows
Where pure poison flows
And where evil rules the day
I pray we can postpone it
By vigilance and prayer
And through newfound concern
We may once again learn
Who saves us from despair
But should the day of evil
Still come to claim this land
The strong and the right
Must uphold the light
And take a righteous stand
We must tell the moviemakers
And the TV people, too
We'll not have a share
In their immoral fare
We'll stick to what is true
So sorry, California
Specifically Hollywood
All of you crooks
With your films, shows, and books
Can leave this neighborhood
For the faithful will awaken
And declare what must be said:
That we'll stand for the Lord
And we'll die by the sword
If forced to choose wrong from dead
And tell abortion's soldiers
We cannot stand with you
See the blood you have spilled
And the lives you have killed
Through the lying "pro-choice" view
And alert the sin protectors
That we see right through their lies
Tell the ACLU
That all that they do
Is Satan's enterprise
But to all I do petition
That you ask of God today
To rescue your soul
From sin's deadly toll
By choosing the only Way
We dare not take up armaments
Nor cast the sinful stone
We merely announce
The one thing that counts:
That Christ is Lord alone
Above all other messages
Let the truth be heard:
That you can know love
That comes from above
By heeding Heaven's Word
Receive Him now and know Him
And join His family
Come be our kin
Let Christ live within
For then you shall be free!
And if you make that promise
To call on Christ as Lord
You'll have a new heart
And you will take part
In His marvelous reward
Neither death nor any evil
Can steal the faithful soul
For you're gripped like a rod
In the strong hand of God
And He is in control
Praise be to God Almighty
Who is, was, and will be
Let us resound
With a worshipful sound
Alleluia, our God, to Thee!

by Jay O'Toole
When taking a stand for Truth as it is,
we need to count the cost!
For others won't like the fact that we live,
by faith,
Just another Old Guy
Just another Old Guy
Sittin' on a bench
Having spent a lifetime
Straddling the fence
Seems like things were
Poetry: Taking a stand
Taking a stand finally after so many years
of being stepped on, taken for granted,
for being bossed
If you’re looking for a poem
to tickle your fancy,
I do humbly offer
my sincere apology
For God is looking for
