Into my world I reluctantly let you creep in
These deep brown eyes that hide a grave sin
My eyes, the key you want, to covet and steal
A messenger delivering an ill fated deal
Nondescript but wary, my deep brown eyes
A way you can enter with heavy felt sighs
A doorway to paths that circle, a road less trod
You see a way to own me, with a gentle prod
Into the dusky darkness, the valley of sheer pride
My eyes ride up front, too bold to just hide
See all and tell all is a statement of fact
You mumble this platitude with heartfelt tact
My eyes tell no secrets, they shadow, they blur
All the while they are mocking, not quite a slur
You think they are beckoning, drawing you near
These deep brown eyes, they harbor a genuine fear

Poetry: My eyes
by Carol Gioia
I can't believe my eyes.
Lack of caring, little sharing,
pennies discarded without caring.
Consumption addiction,
technology
Into my world I reluctantly let you creep in
These deep brown eyes that hide a grave sin
My eyes, the key you want, to covet
by Charles Ray
The golden gleam of sunshine
Through the dusty gloom
Penetrates into the corners
Of my dark and lonely room.
The beauty
Pretty eyes
That announce all her lies
The truth they whisper
What is inside her, they tell
Pretty, deep, thoughtful eyes
Eye Lashes.
Brisk yet fine.
Hair whips.
Faint yet powerful.
Lust strikes.
Silent yet passionate.
Feel it.
Give in.
