The ocean swells in solitude,
Beneath the melancholy moon,
Which hangs aloof, its milky gaze,
Lighting up the frothing waves,
That swish and slip and slide away,
Into the blue black night.
A Dolphin swims concealed below,
Beneath the waves that ebb and flow,
Watching starfish as they shiver,
Slowly like a shadow quiver
Softly on the ocean floor.
He knows not why the night is cold,
Why stars once bright have now grown old,
And fallen flitting from the sky,
Like tear drops from a lonely eye,
Which watches sadly over him,
As he continues on to swim
Into the blue black night.
Yet swiftly as a swallow flies
Into a sapphire coated sky,
The Dolphin sees it suddenly,
And greets it with felicity:
A light is rising in the East,
Above the icy waters deep,
An amber golden orange gleam,
A sparkling, shining, crimson beam,
That warms the cold and blue black night,
And fills the Dolphin with delight:
He Jumps!
He Leaps!
He Flits!
He Flies!
He tries his best to reach the skies!
Then falling, floating back between,
The sheets of turquoise still it seems,
The advent of the day has come,
