What plants will attract hummingbirds to your garden?
Humming birds are awesome tiny creatures and the is also known to be smallest bird on the planet. They measure only three and a half inches from tip to tail. Their weight is amazingly as light as a nickel! They do not stay in one place and you are likely to see them where there are a lot of blossoms with sweet fragrances and tubular in shape.
Wouldn't anyone like to have a beautiful garden? Surely yes, and even more so if there is humming birds that visit frequently. There's nothing difficult about acquiring this lovely garden with these tiny birds to complete it. All you have to do is to make sure there are a few blossoming plants that attract humming birds. Humming birds love the sweet nectar of bright colored flowers with a trumpet like shape. These allow the birds to draw nectar from deep within.
The hibiscus is a common flower and it comes in very attractive colors like red, white, pink, yellow and orange. It is tubular in shape and humming birds absolutely love it.
The morning glory is a good-looking flower that also attracts hummings like magnets. Since the birds like to feed early in the morning, just before dusk, the morning glory is best suited to attract these birds. They grow very fast and they spread quickly because of their reseeding caused by pollination.
Petunias are annuals and are best suited for hot weather conditions. They are planted either as border plants or in hanging baskets as window plants. Their varieties of colors are very attractive not only to us, but humming birds find them equally attractive..
The four o'clock flowers get their name because they bloom only at four o'clock in the evening. They are typical hot weather plants and come in a variety of colors. Though their botanical name is Mirabilis Jalapa, they are best known as the four o'clock flower.
The common Canna flowers are the best attraction to the humming birds. They are trumpet like in shape and their colors are very attractive. Each Canna flower shape varies according to its variety. They are very eye-catching and easy to grow.
There are many more such flowers that have attractive colors and enough nectar to lure the humming bird. The few selected are very common and easy to grow. They can be grown by seeds or even self pollination. You don't have to do anything other than water the plants and plant them in the right place so that it will not only attract beautiful humming birds but also make your garden colorful and gorgeous.
A lover of gardening would definitely go for this simple and sensible hobby. If you are that lover, just go for it!
