Poetry: Music

by Heather Watkins

Such an emptiness here
Where once there was love;
Such a raging fire, awakening the dark
From the only solace it can imagine.
You at the piano,
And me forever on the floor,
Struggling to piece together
What is broken beyond repair.
Would that I could
But relive a solitary second
If only to make the
Piano play.
