Poetry: Seeds

by Heather Watkins

Prisons without bars

where I am captured in a forest

of dead and dying trees,

resisting the fires only

through flood.

I long for the sound of your voice,

but all I hear are the whispers

of dead and dying leaves.

Burn it all down

and reseed.
