The man sat there on the hospital bed,
with an IV in his arm and bandage on his head,
when his duaghter walked in with tears in her eyes,
the father saw her and he was filled with suprize,
how did you get here? I thought they shut down the plains,
they did father so i caught the first train,
why did you come we haven't spoken in years,
and the girl just broke down into tears,
I am so sorry about what has happened in the past,
well I'm so glad you are here, they said tonight would be my last,
I cant believe I hurt you please forgive me,
are you kidding honey, thats all history,
seeing you was my last wish, I'm so glad you came,
lets not ruin this moment by passing the blame,
the father passed with a smile on his face,
his wife cryed and asked for the Lord's good grace,
the nurse was puzzled as she walked in,
for she saw no reason for him to grin,
why is he smiling? she asked the wife,
I've never seen someone so happy at the end of there life,
the wife responded without looking away,
he believes he talked with our daugter today,
where is she, why is she not here?
she is not with us anymore, she died last year,
it was in a car accident after they had a fight,
he never got a chance to make things right,
its been eating away at him, not a day he hasn't cried,
never able to express to her his pride,
until now he has felt so selfish,
but he can rest easy, for now he got his last wish.
