Her heart's desire was to find someone new. A soul-mate, a best friend, or better yet a lifelong companion to do all those fum things with. She had been married for going on fourteen years and she thought everything was going good until that cold valentine's day when her husband didn't come home from work. She was frantic, she called and called his cell phone, Her thoughts were going to his phone is working to he might be in a accident. Minutes turned to hours quickly with her pacing back and forth waiting for some word or message to know that he was ok
Then the call came around midnight. It was her husband, "Honey, I won't be coming home." She said," what?" He said, " I won't be coming home at all because I have someone new in my life!" That's when her dream come true fairy tale ended with a big slap in her face. Sadness filled her until she couldn't stand it anymore and after two long years of beating herself up she moved in with her sister and got a job and started making new friends. She was finally getting on with her life. Her husband had already moved on before he moved out and she wasn't even looking for someone new and then it happened.
He was a sweet person, probably not someone that she would ordinarily become friends with for one he was younger than her and he was in an on again off again relationship with a significant other that he kept saying wasn't working. Well the only regret that I have now is I should have listened to my heart. I was just getting out of a relationship with someone cheating on me and I would never do something like that to another woman. Never and yet a year later with all my heart and soul focused on making him and me happy I didn't see the warning signals until it was too late. First, no phone calls, no texting and now I feel completely used.
He eventually went back to his on again off again girlfriend and here I sit in the same spot I did three years ago. Alone and foolish. Yes the only regret that I have for both of these relationships is do it once shame on you, but to do it or be involved in it shame on me.
