It appears President Obama has put all his eggs in the health care reform basket. He is pushing this as hard as any recent president has advocated any initiative. But when the bipartisan Congressional Budget Office announces the plan is unaffordable and unsustainable, that raises concerns among Americans, especially in the aftermath of Obama authorizing the spending of $787 billion for an economic recovery no one can feel yet. We know he has already increased the national debt to its highest amount ever and will have trouble just paying the interest on that debt because tax revenue from Federal personal income tax is down 20%. Every time we turn on any media, we hear he cannot possibly institute universal health care without raising taxes, but he has promised he would not raise taxes on anyone making under $250,000 a year. Then we hear discussions from administration officials about how a lower cost health care plan can be implemented if we just do it "smartly". Under the "smartly" topics are "end of life counseling", withholding treatment to the terminally ill, questions about a person's productivity, and a pretty easily reached conclusion of government mandated euthanasia. And to top it all off, we're told members of Congress will be exempt from taking part in the program they draft into law.
Enter the baby boomers. "Good enough for me, but not good enough for you, huh? We'll see about that!" At town hall meetings across the country, senators and congressmen were shocked to meet angry crowds, be called on the carpet about their support of health care reform, and be asked questions about the proposed bill they couldn't answer. Amazingly, their response in the media to these confrontations with their constituents was it was all "manufactured anger" orchestrated by the Republican Party.
It's common knowledge in political circles, and in most other circles where a modicum of intelligence is present, that most political rallies are populated by supporters of the respective cause or politician. The event is often staged to appear like a crowd just happened to coincidentally show up and began shouting support. Oh, and they also just happened to be carrying signs of support as well. Who shows up to a rally for a person or cause they don't support? Apparently a lot of people. Check out link #1 below.
By all appearances, however, Americans opposed to the Obama administration's health care proposals are growing in numbers every day. Unlike many, perhaps even most of our elected representatives in Washington, D.C., concerned citizens have read the bill. Their presence at town hall meetings voicing their anger, displaying signs, and shouting has created a marketing nightmare for the Obama administration. How did they handle it? They denounced the protesters. Nancy Pelosi made controversial statements about protesters carrying swastikas in an August 5, 2009 Fox news interview , and Obama himself has told his people to "push back twice as hard". What did he mean?
First, a bit of a review. Remember Obama's background? He was a "community organizer". He was in bed with ACORN, the uber community organizers. They were so good, they could organize dead people. Then there's David Axelrod, also from Chicago, who was chief strategist for Obama's campaign, and is now one of his top political advisors. At link #2 below, read how he invented "astroturfing", the manufacturing of grass roots support. Astroturfing is exactly what the Obama people are accusing the Republicans of.
So what did Obama mean when he said to push back twice as hard? They accuse those who oppose Obama's takeover of the health care industry of astroturfing, so he sanctioned astroturfing twice as hard. So what? Doesn't everybody do it in the political world? Not like this.
What we have here is a President-approved smear campaign against REAL grassroots Americans. They are called Nazis and accused of sabotaging the democratic process. President Bush always welcomed the debate and granted protestors their right to disagree openly. He NEVER insulted them, or disparaged their peaceful actions, no matter how much he may have disagreed with them. This is the difference between Democrats and Republicans. Democrats will stop at nothing, even lying and cheating, to get their agenda approved. That is exactly what Communist doctrine advocates. Democrats don't believe the American people are smart enough to know what's best for them, so it must be shoved down their throats. They have to vilify their opponents because in the rational world of ideas, they cannot win. They accuse Republicans of opposing their agenda and offering no ideas of their own, but they don't consider anything an idea unless it falls in line with their own. Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer, in their USA Today op-ed on 10 Aug said, "Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American." (See link #3 below) Do you see the irony here? They don't think grassroots Americans can figure it out. They accuse their opponents of doing exactly what they are doing themselves.
For the first time in our history, the President himself has asked American citizens to report their neighbors, to tattle on people who "pass misinformation about health care reform". He even set up a web site. To what end? Is the United States government in the business of taking names and personal information on grass roots citizens who disagree? He is a bully attempting to use intimidation against the American people. How is that different than what is happening in Iran right now? Will people from the government show up late at night on our doorstep and haul us away? This is barbaric and we cannot stand for it.
The Democrats have complete control of the United States government. They are lying to the American people, with the full support of some of the largest lobbying groups in the country, as well as the bulk of the mainstream media. One report said that the pharmaceutical industry lobby was prepared to spend $150M on television advertising in support of Obama's plan. Drug companies stand to make billions if this plan is approved. $150M is more than John McCain spent on television throughout his entire Presidential campaign.
This is not about health care for the average American. A CNN poll said 80% of Americans are happy with their health care. This is about money and power. Obama is a puppet for special interests, and will do anything he can to make this pass. When he is defeated for his second term, he will have a lifetime job with the health care industry, or what's left of it. He is already lying about the number of Americans without health care. He says 47 million, but he knowingly includes illegal immigrants, those who earn $50,000 to $75,000 a year and choose to not have health care coverage even though they could afford it, and those who are without insurance for only a few months a year, but covered for the majority of the time. The true "chronically uninsured" number fewer than 10 million people. Why doesn't he just come up with a plan to cover them? Ask yourself. It wouldn't lead to the power, nor generate the money he owes those who supported him. This is payback. The true need could be met much simpler and cheaper if that were really his intent.
If it were really his intent, he would put into his plan provisions to limit malpractice suits against doctors. But then he would anger the trial lawyers, who supported him for president, and who make their livings suing doctors. How can he honestly complain about the cost of health care without addressing tort reform? Many doctors in high risk specialties have malpractice insurance premiums over $250,000 each year. Add overhead expenses, equipment, staff, and a living wage, and there is no wonder doctors must charge so much. But have you heard any talk of curbing that? I doubt it.
Don't just follow my words, but also don't follow the mainstream media. And question everything an administration official says. Listen to Talk Radio and read the internet blogosphere to learn the truth. Don't be fooled. Do your own research, follow your heart and use your head.
