How to spot treat stains

Look no further! I have the perfect solution to spot treat all your laundry stains. There is a miracle product that has been around for years and with a little bit of creativity, this product has become my "best friend in the laundry room."

Now, put your glasses on your head to make sure you do not miss the name of my "Super Stain Remover." You will not find it in the laundry section because it is on the opposite side of the aisle. It is Lestoil.

Lestoil is a multi-pupose cleaner that does advertise "grease and stain remover" and is sold in most grocery stores alongside of all the other cleaners. Once again, it is usually on the opposite aisle of detergents, fabric softners, bleach, and popular stain removers. Yet, I have a few helpful hints that make Lestoil the BEST laundry stain remover. First put a little bit of Lestoil in a spray bottle with water, which will allow it to work as a perfect "spray" stain remover. For example, place about 1/3 cup of Lestoil and fill the spray bottle with water to about 1/2 full.

Did you ever have a dark stain on your clothes that seemed to appear out of nowhere? It is the type of stain that you do not know how it landed on your shirt. You swear it was not there when you put the item in the laundry. I think my fabric softener sometimes spins onto my laundry during the rinse cycle. Therefore, this dark spot appears on the item of clothing that was probably hit by the fabric softener first. Sadly, because it is dark, you may not notice it till after the item comes out of the dryer. OH NO! How does one get a stain out that has been sealed in with heat! As the famous vocalist Bobby McFerrin said, "Don't worry, be happy." Lestoil will take care of that old-heated, mystery stain in a snap.

The second secret to using Lestoil as the perfect "laundry buddy" is get a lid from an old bottle of ketchup. It can be any brand that has the flip top with a little hole in the middle. Because Lestoil is not as well known for its laundry uses as it is for its other household needs, it is not what I would call "pour friendly." The lid is circular and comes off exposing a regular round opening that makes dumping the Lestoil into a bucket of water easy; yet, pouring onto a small spot on my pants-well, not so easy. The ketchup lid fits beautifully onto the Lestoil bottle allowing only a little bit of the product to be released onto your laundry item.

So, there you have it. My two secrets that make Lestoil my best friend in laundry room.
